Psychosocial Assessments
Psychosocial Assessments are a thorough assessment which includes the evaluation of a client's mental, physical, and emotional health. A psychosocial assessment also includes examination of the client's strengths and resources; current difficulties the client is facing - for example, current stressors or unhelpful social structures. Psychosocial assessments also include an investigation of the client's perception/understanding of their current physical and emotional health and goals.
A psychosocial assessment is part of the beginning stage of counselling, as this information is imperative to the therapy plan/process.
Clients may also wish to have a psychosocial assessments done to evaluate their status following a Motor Vehicle Accident (as part of a MVA claim) or Workplace Accident (as part of a WSIB claim); or for legal/court purposes.
